As a business based in Norway, I’m legally obliged to add 25% VAT to all invoices for Norwegian clients. That means if you’re in Norway, VAT will be added on top of the program price. But if your business is VAT-registered , you can simply deduct it in your accounts, so it won’t really affect your bottom line.

And did you know you can actually reclaim VAT on things you bought before you even got into the VAT Register? Yep – up to three years back. As long as:

• you didn’t resell the item without VAT, and

• it was meant for your VAT-liable business.

So if you’re just getting started, don’t stress too much about that 25%. You’ll likely get it back anyway.

For international clients, invoices are issued without Norwegian VAT—but you’re responsible for following whatever tax rules apply in your own country. Clear, simple, no nasty surprises.
